Older women especially have established themselves and have their own lives. This means that they tend to be more independent. This is great because you won’t need to worry about a woman trying to cut in on your boys’ nights out and she won’t try to smother you when you need some alone time. “I got more of a reaction from men than women. The men my age and older were jealous that I was with her. They would look at me as if I had something they wanted and didn’t have and, because I was younger, they reacted more strongly. And women my age disapproved of the relationship.

I’m not saying he’s a bad guy, but I just don’t tolerate any BS. I am a lot less patient and tolerant of wasting time or playing games. If something isn’t going anywhere in terms of dating, I don’t waste my time. So many of the excellent older queer ladies I know have dealt with their shit and are just unashamed and self-confident in all the best ways.

Certain human attributes simply can’t withstand the test of time — the precision of our vision, the strength of our bones, the synchronicity of our limbs. But as we grow seemingly weaker on the outside, my grandparents have demonstrated that, internally, we often tend to grow even stronger in our convictions.

My first emotion was confusion. Then, almost immediately, I was peeved. The “pet” kind. It seemed as if this person, a woman, was saying that in addition to all the other pressures single mature women feel when it comes to love and dating, they also have to take on mentorship responsibilities in the relationship for the purposes of grooming a man for the next (younger) woman in their life. Apparently, it is now up to us to teach lessons these men should have learned from their parents, extended family members, or any sane adult in their lives during their adolescence.

• Whatever your children think (and the chances are they’ll be on board!) it’s important to be honest with them early on in the process.
• “Also, they are much more experienced with life. You know this is the kind of person who’s going to tell you exactly what they want and they are more sure of themselves than the people my age or younger. Older women are much more well rounded—they know what they feel and why they feel it.
• Just be aware and cognizant of this.
• They might say silly things like, “We paid all this money to be here, we should make the most of it.” This is a phrase that no man in his right mind ever wants to hear.
• They don’t call them cougars for nothing!
• This is true for all relationships but especially with older women, who may expect less texting and talking and more doing.

Shoot, some of us haven’t even really found it yet. And, dare I say it, we’re even worthy of passionate love, marriage, and children later on in life (gasp!).

Some conveyed that the attention of an older woman boosted their own level of confidence and self-esteem. Others recognized that older women have more life experience, emotionally stability, grounding, and can offer both honesty and different perspectives. That doesn’t mean older girlfriends reject marriage. However, due to their experience, they know for sure whether they need it or not.

Indeed, relationships are much more palatable when there’s parity in the age department. It’s a shame that this is still the norm, but it most certainly shouldn’t deter anyone from starting a relationship where there’s a sizeable age gap! It’s a fact that older women dating is becoming much more common, which can only be a positive step in the right direction. See if it’s meant to last.

Make sure to be reasonable. I am currently dating someone younger than me and it isn’t easy.

A woman who is older has had plenty of time to get her emotions in check and has probably gotten a lot of bad, impulsive decisions out of her system. The older you get the less energy you have when it comes to the dating an older woman game or dramatics. If you’re dating a woman who is under the age of 25, you may notice that she has less control over her emotions, can be impulsive and may not have the maturity to date without playing games.

Immature ladies are mindlessly trying to correspond some stereotypical images, instead of sincerely enjoying a moment of intimacy. The older females don’t have that modesty, as well as, embarrassment and can explain what they prefer honestly. Moreover, it’s not that unusual practice as it might look at first sight.

They have a stronger love for life and are passionate in what they do. They love deeper. To say that anyone dating someone younger is trying recapture their youth is an unfair generalization. But spending time with someone less tethered to family obligations and long-entrenched lifestyle demands can feel pretty freeing.
